Hospice Children Celebrate Christmas

CCP gave the Hospice team in Gomel some extra funds to help with buying Christmas gifts for the children in their care. Some received their presents at home and others were able to attend a Christmas Party, which was great fun for the brothers and sisters of some of the most disabled children.

Christmas and New Year in Belarus goes from December 25th, when a few celebrate Christmas to ‘Old New Year’ on January 13th. Orthodox Christmas is January 6th and New Year’s Eve is the biggest event in the calendar.

The Home Palliative Care Team which looks after these families is now largely funded by the Health Care Department in Gomel, after many years of being solely funded by CCP. We still provide some extra staffing, support for families and transport for the medical team.
