Our Wonderful Charity Shop

We inherited our charity shop in Crook, Co. Durham, in 2011 from a small local Chernobyl charity. It was brilliantly managed for us for many years by Gerald Hirst, along with a team of volunteers.

When Gerald retired last year Claire Pears took over as manager of the shop. She has been doing a wonderful job too, especially this summer when the shop was refurbished and Claire took the opportunity to rearrange the displays and stamp her own style on the shop.

It is looking very bright and cheerful and Claire, with the support of Julie, Susan and others, has created a welcoming environment for visitors to the shop. They have a terrific turnover of donations and people popping in regularly to buy, so it is a great fundraiser for CCP as well as a resource for the local community. Many thanks to Claire and all the team.
