New Manager For Our Wonderful Charity Shop
We inherited our charity shop in Crook, Co. Durham, in 2011 from a small local Chernobyl charity. It was brilliantly managed for us for many years by Gerald Hirst, along with a team of volunteers.
When Gerald retired in 2023 Claire Pears took over as manager of the shop. She has done a wonderful job over the last two years, especially last summer when the shop was refurbished and Claire took the opportunity to rearrange the displays and stamp her own style on the shop.
It is looking very bright and cheerful and Claire, with the support of Julie, Susan and others, has created a welcoming environment for visitors to the shop, but now she has had to step back because of family commitments. We are very grateful for all the hard work she has put into the shop.
We are delighted to welcome our new Manager, Margaret Heslop. The shop continues to have a terrific turnover of donations and people popping in regularly to buy, so it is a great source of reliable income for CCP as well as a wonderful resource for the local community.
