Sveta – Saving Animals and Caring for People

Sveta grew up at Rechitsa Boarding School and then came to live at our Family Home in Klimovka. From there she attended Secretarial college and then worked for many yeast at The Mayflower Respite Care Centre.

Sveta’s greatest love was always animals and she set up a charity to rescue dogs and cats; get them neutered and chipped, and find them loving homes. Dozens of people have volunteered to work with Sveta and she regularly features on Gomel TV telling people about the next ‘Give them a Chance ‘ event.

Sveta and her volunteers visit many of the institutions for people with learning disabilities, at Christmas, New Year and other holiday times. They take some of their gentlest,. friendliest dogs with them, which provides a lot of joy to residents, and they organise dances and games.

We are so proud of everything Sveta has achieved and with the way she inspires so many young people to get involved.
