Gomel Children’s Hospice

Sasha and his mum are receving hospice care

Dr.Igor Iscrov was inspired by his visit to Great Ormond Street in March to plan an outreach programme for the Hospice. He aims to ensure that within the next two years it will be possible for a family in any part of Gomel Region to receive home care if their child’s treatment is not successful.

The first Outreach Nurse will start work in Mozyr in November, enabling children in the town, in the nearby villages and in Hoiniki to spend their last weeks at home.

A Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Link in Swanage have generously provided £2,000 to sponsor the salary for the first two years, and Paul Kleian who climbed the highest mountains in east and west Europe has raised £700 to help with the purchase of medicines.

We still need further support to buy a small car and to cover expenses, and then move on to setting up the next nurse in Zhlobin
