Training and exchange visits

In January we brought to Britain some of the staff from the Regional Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Centre in Gomel.
They visited special schools and centres and took many new ideas back to Belarus.
We organised similar visits in the Autumn, funded by UNICEF, for three groups: representatives of the Health and Education Ministries in Minsk; staff from the home for Abandoned Babies in Gomel; and senior members of the Education and Social Protection Departments of Gomel Region.
All these visits were extremely successful and we hope to give significant support in the realisation of some of the changes which have been inspired by these visits.

Shirley Rainey, a very experienced physiotherapist, spent two weeks working in a variety of schools, centres and associations in Minsk and Gomel. These visits were funded by the British Embassy.
