Sasha, Liena, Greesha and Sveta live in the village of Klimovka, south of Gomel, in a home which we created for them two years ago. They have received visits this year from senior representatives of the Education and Social Protection Ministries in Minsk who have all been impressed by the happy atmosphere and the steps the young people are taking towards becoming more independent. Sasha has been learning to make shoes at School No. 5 in Gomel; Greesha has been busy making greetings cards for us to sell in Britain; Liena produces beautiful knitting and crochet work; and Sveta has started secretarial college in Gomel where she is studying hard and making many friends. |
