Hospice support

In March we brought Dr. Igor Iscrov on a visit to Britain. He is a haematologist and the doctor for the Children’s Home Hospice in Gomel which we established two years ago. Igor visited hospices and haematology departments and met many palliative care specialists.
It was his meetings at Great Ormond Street Hospital which inspired him to plan an outreach programme to cover the rest of Gomel Region.
With financial support from a Lifeline Link in Swanage and the Susette Morfield Charitable Trust we have now employed the first outreach nurse in Mozyr and provided her with a car to enable her to support children who are terminally ill in the villages around Mozyr and Hoiniki.
She will receive training in Minsk and will be able to regularly consult Igor by mobile phone and email.
