In memory of Brian Boothman

Brian died of cancer in September at the age of 74. He and Jaz had been involved with the West Pennine Branch of CCP for nine years, hosting children for seven of them. He loved to take the boys swimming and playing football when they were well enough, being no mean athlete himself. We will always remember one particular football match in Burnley: Belarus Under-16's v. West Pennine over-40's - a keenly fought contest. He was active in every fundraising we had, always willing to marshall races on windy hillsides and to  get up early on Sunday mornings to get the best spot at the many car boot sales he and Jaz organised. Whenever a willing aid collector or convoy loader was needed Brian would be first in the queue. We will all miss him.
