Continuing demand for foster care training

AFTER four years of training in Gomel Region, Jean Holt, who leads this programme has gained a great deal of respect from officials and those working directly with children. At the Rogachev Social Centre, regarded as one of the best in the country, the Director Galina Femenok (right) eagerly awaits further training from Jean and her colleagues. And in the Ministry of Education, Galina Rudenkova is very keen to include people from other parts of the country in the next training session in Gomel Region and would like to hold a national training programme in Minsk next Spring on support for young people leaving care. Many excellent specialists from Leeds, North Yorkshire and Essex have taken part in training in the past, and we are looking for new people with experience of training who would like to get involved next year. The current training programme is funded by a grant from the British Embassy.
