At the farewell party 2010
The West Pennine branch of the Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK) is now in it’s 15th year, having been one of the two original groups. For several years now we have hosted boys and girls aged 10 – 16 years who are in remission from cancer. Our group links with the Belarus charity Children in Trouble. Our group holds monthly meetings throughout the year in the Rochdale and Todmorden areas with the occasional social activity. Funds are raised in a variety of ways including marshalling local road races, raffles, and bric-a-brac stalls. In addition individuals have given donations raised from celebratory occasions such as weddings and birthdays.

Celebrating Nobby Ainscough’s 70th birthday
Members from West Pennine will be celebrating the 70th birthday of one of our members at a black tie dinner dance on Friday 6th November. The member is Nobby Ainscough who is recovering form extensive major surgery. We are all delighted at Nobby’s progress.
