Margarete & Palina
The Vale of Evesham group extends from Evesham and Badsey in the south to Inkberrow in the north, and Alcester in the east, and we welcome interest from all who live within easy reach of this area. We are always on the lookout for new supporters who could be hosts, or who could help with fund-raising, or simply assist in our activities when the mothers and children are here.
We host mothers and children aged between 5 and 7 for 10 days in the summer, and our objective is to offer a holiday with fresh food and fresh air away from contamination, and also organising a range of activities for the children.
If you are interested and would like to know more about us, please do get in touch.

This year’s Visit took place from July 5th – 18th. We hosted 5 children aged between 4 and 7, who each came with their mother, and Valentina, our superb interpreter.
Each child and mum stayed with a host in the Vale of Evesham area, and attended all the activities arranged in a busy programme. Although the highlight of the 2 weeks is always a trip to the Midland Safari Park, many other outings are very successful, including canoeing, riding, boat trips, and barbecues. The final party, when the mums prepare all the delicious savoury dishes, had a wonderful atmosphere, and Roman, the youngest child, who is disabled, was presented with a mobility vehicle by the lady who provides the riding.
The children were a delight, and played so well with each other, never falling out or arguing, and the mums were very appreciative. It was a very enjoyable fortnight for hosts and visitors alike. Valentina, our regular interpreter, always prepares the mums in advance, giving them a copy of the programme before they arrive, so they have an idea of what to expect. She is a valued friend of all of us, and excellent in her role. With her help, we are planning to produce a recipe book of Belarusian recipes which we hope will be available for fund-raising.
2010 has been a busy year for the Vale of Evesham Group. With fund-raising in mind, we put on a very successful pub Quiz in March, ‘collected’ at a local shopping centre, and with the help of Pershore Rotary, at a Motorway service station; and finally, on April 25th we hosted a Classic Car Show in a beautiful setting of a private garden belonging to one of our supporters. As well as over 30 classic cars on show, we had the good fortune to be helped by Edd China, from Wheeler Dealers, who brought his ‘Shed Car’ and took people on rides around the neighbourhood.
