The CCP (UK) Monk Fryston group covers the Selby and Sherburn in Elmet areas in Yorkshire. We host children from Chernobyl every summer for 1 month. We are always looking forward to welcome new members to our group and to hear from people who would like to become a host family. Our group has been running for 12 years and continues to enjoy greatly our time with the children from Chernobyl and also all our fundraising activities which include Charity Balls, Auctions, Ladies Nights and Open House mornings to name but a few.

Summer 2009 Report

Posted: October 8, 2009

Another super Summer has passed and we enjoyed hosting 10 children and their interpreter Ludmilla in our homes. The children who were aged between 8 and 11 had a busy action packed time with many activities and fun outings to places such as Filey, West Yorkshire Police and Newby Hall, not to mention many BBQ’s and parties. Selby District Council hosted a civic reception for the children at Abbey Leisure Centre and allowed the host families to use the pool for the duration of the visit. The children also went horse riding and had great fun being taken for rides on a quad bike!  We must take this opportunity to thank all our kind supporters who provided these activities.

It is always with a heavy heart when we wave goodbye to the children at the end ot their stay but we know we send them home with so many happy memories and exciting strories to tell.

So ….. we now plan summer 2010! Would you interested in being a host family? If yes please contact me on jenroalli@aol.com
