The Staffordshire based CCP UK group have bee
n hosting teenagers and young children for the last 13 years and have found that the holiday makes a tremendous difference to the lives of the young people, both physically and psychologically.
The group which is based at St. Luke’s Church, Endon, Stoke-on-Trent , are very grateful for all the support given each year from local Churches, Rotary Clubs, WI’s, schools and businesses, without whom this Project would not be possible.
Summer 2010
Most of the young people who came to stay in Endon this summer are 19 years old. They spent their first fortnight with families and then stayed at Cicely Haughton School in Wetley Rocks. From the start the young people gelled as a group and were a great support to each other. They particularly enjoyed outdoor activities like caoeing at Leamington Spa. The teenagers had never met before they came on the holiday, but they all became very good friends during their time together.
Doctors say that four weeks away from their contaminated homeland can boost a child’s damaged immune system for up to two years.
