Buxton and Longnor group has been hosting children with diabetes for over 11 years. The children always have a great  time during the holiday and are seen here on a day out to Solomon’s Temple on the hillside above Poole’s Cavern.

8th HILLS & DALES WALKS

Start at HIGH ASH FARM FIELD STUDY CENTRE.

Start and finish at High Ash Field Study Centre GR 048653

The 8 mile walk is a circular route taking in Hollinsclough –

Parkhouse, Glutton Bridge, Crowdecote, C/P 1 Over Boothlow,

Fairfield, Shinning Ford, and Marnishaw Head then into High

Ash

The 12 miles and the 24 mile route will both continue from

Crowdecote out to Pilsbury Castle, Hartington,Wolfescote

Dale, Dove Dale, Alstonefield*, Wetton, Thors Cave,

Butterton, Reveridge Woods, Newtown, and back to High Ash.

*All 12 mile entrants will be taken back to the start by Mini

Bus from Alstonefield.

Start time. WALKERS 0800 hrs, RUNNERS 0900 hrs.

ENTRY COST for the 10 & 22 mile walks £7.00

ENTRY COST for the 7 mile walk £5.00.

ENTRY COST on the day £10.00 for all walks

Includes, refreshments and drinks at all checkpoints around the route,

meal at the finish -

A full route description and a certificate will e issued to all entrants.

ENTRIES ON THE DAY ONLY IF SPACES LEFT.

Overnight  accommodation on Fri 4th September. Rooms with

en-suit 4/6/8 bunk beds (use own sleeping bags and towels)

Cereal, Bacon breakfast. COST £ 15.00 per person.

All CHEQUE’S  PAYABLE TO —  HILLS and DALES.

EQUIPMENT TO BE CARRIED.

Waterproofs, Mug, Torch, Whistle & MAP.
