Chernobyl 25

It will be 25 years since the Chernobyl disaster on April 26th 2011

We have come together with other UK charities to create a new website to maximise the impact of our joint activities to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl. Take a look and see how you can get involved in raising awareness and funds. More information will appear on this site and plans develop, so keep checking to find out more.

We have also launched the Chernobyl Challenge page so get thinking about what challenge you could do!

For Schools

Non Uniform or ‘Purple’ Day

We are urging schools across the UK to get involved in commemorating the anniversay by holding either a ‘non uniform day’ or a ‘Purple Day’ (students wear something purple to signify the parts of Belarus which will be uninhabitable for generations, and are shown in purple on the radiation maps). Students bring £1 to support our work.
