Catherine McElholm, CCP National Treasurer, pictured above with Ruslan from the Search Club, who meet at the Mayflower respite centre twice a month, was part of a group of five who visited Belarus last week on an educational visit. The ladies who took part are involved in either coordinating their local group or hosting and fundraising. They were very keen to see for themselves all CCP Projects which seek to improve the life chances of children whose lives have been affected by the Chernobyl disaster. They had a wonderful visit and were overwhelmed by the hospitality shown to them by their new Belarusian friends. They met Sasha pictured below with his mum Vera and sister Katya, who is looking forward to coming to Monk Fryston this summer for a recuperative holiday. They also enjoyed meeting children at Zhuravichi Children’s home, for children and young adults with disabilities, where CCP support an extra teacher to work with the children. This little boy from Ulookavye orphanage for children with learning disabilities was just waking up from his afternoon sleep.
